Intersil Benelux is a German family company founded in 1967. The company supplies rail and rod systems, mainly in Europe but also worldwide. Since 2009, Intersil has been supplying retailers in the Netherlands directly, without intermediaries. This means that the products are delivered directly from the factory to the customers, resulting in better customer relations and a higher level of satisfaction.
Ed Jansen van Doorn takes us through what sets Intersil Benelux apart: the unique approach where almost everything is done in-house. The company designs everything itself, makes the machines to manufacture the products and handles all of the marketing in-house. This independence from other parties allows Intersil to offer a wide range of solutions for every type of window and casement. When a standard solution is inadequate, the company develops a custom alternative.
Ed especially enjoys coming up with functional and design-oriented solutions for clients. Customer contact is crucial, and Ed most enjoys coming up with solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Customers order from Intersil, and five days later the order is on the mat from the factory in Germany in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, Intersil does not keep stock, which is also unnecessary thanks to the fast delivery time.
Sustainability plays an important role at Intersil Benelux. The company recycles waste materials as best it can and works efficiently in terms of transport. Ed sees Intersil's future in the importance of consulting and increasing awareness of its products via the Internet. Even though the product is difficult to sell online because of the customization aspect, Intersil values personal and telephone advice to help customers in the best possible way.
When choosing a rod, customers should keep in mind Intersil's slogan, "We present your fabrics. The process begins with selecting the curtain, followed by determining the method of confection and finally choosing a suitable rod. A beautiful rail or rod really completes a curtain.
